Twitter, the popular micro-blogging service, was hacked early Friday morning by a group calling itself the “Iranian Cyber Army.”

After an acquisition that most of us thought was fairly minor news, it turns out that John Carmack of Doom and id Software fame is a mobile games enthusiast! Not only is id Software still flogging the Doom horse, but we may be in for a little treat in the coming months. Gaming iPhone users are probably already aware that Wolfenstein is available and it’s really good. And on the back of its success they are now looking to release other classic titles, new franchises and even… role-playing titles.
Finally, Ubuntu released its Final edition of Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala). I love this linux distribution very much and I think most of linux users do. Hope its development will become faster to be areal competitor to the commercial ones ( Windows, Mac, … ).

Not tempted by Motorola’s DROID? Fear not, for the HTC Hero has just been confirmed to run Android 2.0.
TechTree reports that HTC is working on an Android 2.0 update for the Hero and cites the following statement from the company.
“Yes, we are working on an Eclair update for the HTC Hero. Because Eclair is a significantly enhanced release, it will require some time to update Sense for this new version of the Android OS. Please be patient while we work to provide you with a tightly integrated experience like the one you are already enjoying on your Hero.”
The news makes the HTC Hero the second device running Android 2.0. First is the Motorola DROID, which launches next week, on November 6. Any happy Hero owners in the house? Let us know what you think of 2.0 as soon as you can!
